FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A frightening road rage incident unfolded just outside Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, leaving a woman and her passenger in shock as a fellow motorist brandished a firearm at them. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is currently on the hunt for the suspect, whose actions were captured on a cell phone video.
The incident occurred shortly after the woman picked up her passenger from the airport. As they attempted to exit the airport, she tried to merge into another lane, only to be cut off by a black Dodge Durango that accelerated aggressively. Despite the initial setback, she managed to maneuver behind the Durango, but the driver then slowed down deliberately, forcing her to change lanes once more.
The passenger, quick to react, began filming the unfolding situation. The video reveals the moment of shock when the Durango driver pointed a gun at them as they passed by. Realizing he was being recorded, the man quickly lowered the weapon and sped away, his demeanor visibly changed.
The victims were left shaken by the ordeal, which could have had a much more tragic outcome. “No one expects to have a gun pointed at them while driving,” said a spokesperson familiar with the case. The authorities are urging the public to review the image of the suspect, captured from the video, and the vehicle he was driving.
In such threatening situations, the sheriff’s office advises pulling over to a secure location and contacting law enforcement immediately. The victims did just that, and now the authorities are relying on the public to help identify the man involved.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident is encouraged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. The community’s help is crucial in preventing such dangerous encounters on the road.
