Early Monday evening, tragedy struck in Arizona when a trooper was shot and killed.
The Phoenix Police Department was quick to launch an investigation to find the suspect’s vehicle, and upon discovery, the driver opened fire on officers.
Following the barrage of shots, the driver’s vehicle crashed nearby and the driver was declared dead at the scene.
The Phoenix Police Department reported nine officers were injured during the shooting and a female victim was also found deceased. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) is working to make sure that any involved parties face justice and are active in the investigation to provide support to the injured officers and their families in light of the incident.
The ADPS has a clear pledge to protect officers, citizens and uphold justice, and at this time they are helping the Phoenix Police Department out to ensure an accurate and thorough investigation.
The Phoenix Police Department wants to offer more assistance and are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding the case.
