Arrested New Pornographers Drummer Severs Ties After Shocker Involving Child Pornography Possession

Indio, California – The drummer for the band New Pornographers, Joe Seiders, has been arrested by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for possession of child pornography. The band expressed their shock and immediate decision to cut all connections with Seiders following the distressing news.

The arrest came after police officers in Palm Desert, California responded to reports of a suspicious incident on April 7 involving an 11-year-old boy at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Coachella Valley. The child reported that an unknown man had recorded him using the restroom on a cell phone. A subsequent incident at the same location led to the identification and arrest of Seiders two days later.

Seiders was served search warrants for his residence, vehicle, and cell phone, uncovering evidence linking him to the reported incidents and additional crimes, including possession of child pornography, annoying/molesting a child, invasion of privacy, and attempted invasion of privacy. He has been booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio and is scheduled to appear in court on April 22, as reported by Pitchfork.

The New Pornographers spokesperson conveyed the band’s shock, horror, and devastation over the news, emphasizing their decision to severe all ties with Seiders. The impact of his actions has been acknowledged, with the band expressing sympathies towards those affected by the situation.

These revelations have sparked discussions within the music industry about the importance of addressing serious allegations and taking immediate action to protect any potential victims. The case involving Seiders serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and accountability in all aspects of public life, particularly for those in influential positions.
