Nashville, Tennessee – The music world is mourning the loss of Bob Bryar, the drummer for My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2014. Law enforcement sources have confirmed Bryar’s passing, revealing that he was found deceased in his Tennessee home, with his body discovered on Tuesday after being last seen alive on November 4.
Authorities have noted that there is no suspicion of foul play, with all of Bryar’s weapons and music equipment found undisturbed in his home. Animal Control was called to the scene after the badly decomposed body was found, removing two dogs from the premises. The medical examiner is now investigating the circumstances surrounding Bryar’s death.
Bryar first crossed paths with the My Chemical Romance band members while they were on tour with The Used in 2004. He officially joined the group, replacing Matt Pelissier shortly after they released their album “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.” Bryar’s drumming can be heard on the band’s iconic 2006 album “The Black Parade,” and he also contributed to songwriting for their 2010 release “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.”
Following his departure from the band before the release of “Danger Days,” Bryar worked with various other musical acts before eventually transitioning into the real estate industry. In recent years, he reflected on his struggles with suicidal thoughts after leaving My Chemical Romance, sharing his experiences openly online.
Despite My Chemical Romance announcing a tour for the following year, Bryar was not set to participate, making him the longest-tenured drummer in the band’s history. His absence from the lineup was noticeable, leaving fans and fellow band members alike to mourn his untimely passing at the age of 44.
