California law enforcement officials are currently on the hunt for Andrea Vasquez, a 19-year-old woman who was reportedly abducted from her boyfriend’s car in a park after being shot at by an unidentified assailant. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Penn Park, Whittier, a city located approximately 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
According to the Whittier Police Department, an armed individual approached the vehicle Vasquez and her boyfriend were in and opened fire. In the ensuing chaos, the boyfriend managed to escape the scene unharmed. However, upon his return, he found traces of blood near his car and Vasquez was nowhere to be found.
The missing woman’s sister, Edlyn Vasquez, who shares a residence with her in Los Angeles, has taken to social media to appeal for public assistance in locating her sister. She expressed her desperation and uncertainty about her sister’s condition, urging anyone with information to come forward.
Emily Martinez, a relative of Vasquez residing in Las Vegas, stated that the last known location of Vasquez’s phone was in the Moreno Valley area, roughly 50 miles east of Whittier Park. Martinez described Vasquez as a vibrant and beloved individual, recounting fond memories of their trip to Cancun and Vasquez’s humorous antics. She also mentioned that Vasquez had been working with her sister, a lash artist, and had a keen interest in cosmetology.
Vasquez, who stands 5-foot-3 and weighs 103 pounds, was last seen dressed in a black long-sleeve crop top, khaki pants, and black low-top Converse shoes. She has a tattoo of her sister’s name, Edlyn, on the back of her neck, an Aries constellation on her right hand, and a belly button piercing. The family is clueless about who could have been responsible for the incident.
The Whittier Police Department has urged anyone with information to contact their detectives or the tipline. They have yet to respond to requests for comments on the case.
