SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – Intermountain Health recently initiated construction for its new multi-specialty clinic and dedicated cancer center, catering to the needs of residents in northern Utah County. The Intermountain Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic and Cancer Center aims to provide a comprehensive array of specialized services, including OB/GYN care, gastroenterology, audiology, urology, cardiology, and pediatrics, among others. The integrated cancer center within the facility will offer vital cancer care services such as chemotherapy treatments and survivorship support services like oncology social work and nurse navigators to assist patients through their healthcare journey.
According to Desiree Dougherty, assistant regional service line director for Intermountain Health, the new cancer center is intended to alleviate the burdens faced by patients who currently need to travel significant distances for treatment. Dougherty emphasized Intermountain’s commitment to delivering cancer care in proximity to patients’ homes to minimize the challenges associated with treatment, which often include stress, anxiety, time away from work, and lengthy visits to healthcare facilities during difficult times.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility was attended by Laurie and Scott Stone, who shared their firsthand experience of traveling long distances for cancer treatment. Laurie faced a battle with uterine cancer in 2022, undergoing multiple procedures and eventually needing radiation therapy at Intermountain’s cancer centers in American Fork and Provo. Two years later, Scott also received a cancer diagnosis, further underscoring the importance of accessible cancer care services close to home for the Stones and other residents in the area.
Scott Stone expressed his gratitude for the upcoming clinic, which will significantly reduce the travel time for cancer treatments for him and his wife. The multidisciplinary clinic’s establishment in northern Utah County responds to the region’s rapid population growth, with Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain seeing substantial increases in residents over the years. The clinic is positioned to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community by bringing advanced cancer services within reach of local residents like the Stones.
Brandon Barney, medical director of radiation oncology services, highlighted the clinic’s vision to provide a personalized and healing environment for patients, offering state-of-the-art cancer treatments comparable to those available at larger medical centers. With a focus on cutting-edge technology and comprehensive cancer care, the clinic intends to cater to a diverse range of cancer conditions and ensure that patients receive top-tier medical services without the need to travel long distances for treatment. Situated at 392 W. Medical Drive in Saratoga Springs, the clinic is expected to open its doors in the fall of 2026, aiming to serve the thriving community with accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
