(AbsoluteNews.com) – Violence has continued to be an issue in Portland, Oregon. Over the weekend, when federal authorities tried to stop some of the rioting, city officials threw a fit. On July 19, Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) told CNN’s “State of the Union” President Trump’s administration is “sharply escalating the situation…” by abusing “police tactics.” An administration official fired back at the mayor’s comments.
Acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Mark Morgan said the mayor’s statement was “ridiculous” and “not based in reality or fact.” The commissioner told Fox News the violence in the city was a problem way before they stepped in to help. In fact, the federal government deployed to Portland only after Democrats couldn’t get control of the situation. And yet, Wheeler is still trying to get the feds out.
Today, Mayors from around the country took a stand against unilateral federal intervention in our cities, calling for immediate removal of the President’s “Rapid Deployment Unit” squads and for a congressional investigation of their unconstitutional terror tactics. pic.twitter.com/akgHn7hPWz

President Donald Trump took an oath to protect the American people. When city officials are allowing dangerous criminals to take over a city, he can’t just let it continue. The idea that the president is making an already horrendous situation worse by supporting the law enforcement in Portland, seems pretty preposterous.
