CDC Warns US Citizens To Prepare For Coronavirus Spread

Just this weekend, Italian officials put the country on lock down as the coronavirus began to spread at a community level. This is the first country, outside of China, that has taken such drastic measures, leaving officials worried about the potential spread throughout Western Europe.

Meanwhile, in the United States, the CDC is cautioning the public to be prepared. While they are still hesitant to declare a public emergency, there have been 35 confirmed cases of the virus in the US. Officials are doing what they can to prevent the spread of the virus, but they do acknowledge it is likely it will begin to spread in US communities in the not-too-distant future.

Other countries are seeing business and school shutdowns in an attempt to slow or stop the person-to-person spread of the virus. Nancy Messonnier of The National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases says “the day may come where we will need to implement such measures in the US communities.” Any type of event involves bringing large groups of people together may need to be curtailed.

Will your household be prepared should our supply lines and public services shut down within the next couple of months? It’s time to give preparation serious consideration.
