Cyberattack on X Revealed by Elon Musk – Massive Outages Explained!

Palo Alto, California – After facing several hours of ongoing outages on Monday, Elon Musk addressed the widespread technical issues plaguing his social media platform.

In a post on his platform, where he has over 219 million followers, Musk revealed the cause behind the outages, attributing them to a massive cyberattack against X. He indicated that the attack involved a significant amount of resources, suggesting the involvement of either a large, coordinated group or a country. Musk mentioned ongoing efforts to trace the source of the attack.

Users initially reported difficulties accessing X at around 5:30 a.m. ET on March 10. Although these issues seemed to subside, another outage affected user access around 9:30 a.m. ET. Subsequently, a third wave of error complaints emerged around 11 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector, a website monitoring service.

During attempts to access the service, some X users encountered error messages from Cloudflare, a content delivery network and cybersecurity services provider, indicating that the web server was experiencing an unknown error.

Elon Musk, a tech executive and billionaire, has been no stranger to controversy. He has been closely associated with President Donald Trump, leading the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk has overseen substantial cutbacks in the department, resulting in the loss of thousands of U.S. government jobs and the termination of federal programs in a short period.

Notably, Tesla, a company headed by Musk, has faced a barrage of attacks and protests in recent weeks. These actions stem from backlash against Musk’s DOGE policies and his significant influence within the Trump administration.

In a bold move, Musk rebranded Twitter as X, reflecting his personal preference for the letter. This rebranding decision came after announcing plans to transform Twitter into X, branding it as “the everything app.”
