Dehydration Strikes Rock Icon Carlos Santana Again: Concert Postponed in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Rock legend Carlos Santana encountered a medical emergency ahead of his scheduled concert in San Antonio, Texas. The San Antonio Fire Department responded to reports of a potential fainting incident at the Majestic Theatre around 5 p.m., leading to Santana being taken to a nearby hospital. TMZ reported that Santana’s collapse occurred during a soundcheck, capturing the moment he was transported into an ambulance on a gurney.

According to Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, the medical issue was linked to dehydration. Vrionis stated that Santana was preparing for his performance when the dehydration event took place, prompting the decision to postpone the show in the interest of Santana’s health. Santana is recuperating well and is eager to return to San Antonio for the rescheduled concert, as well as continue his tour across the United States.

This is not the first time dehydration has affected Santana during a public appearance, as it was also reported to be the cause of his collapse during a concert in 2022. Additionally, Santana underwent a heart procedure in late 2021. Santana, renowned for his groundbreaking guitar skills, made a significant mark in music history with a standout performance at Woodstock in 1969 alongside his namesake band.

Santana’s resilience and dedication to his craft continue to inspire music enthusiasts worldwide, making his swift recovery and return to the stage highly anticipated.
