DENTIST CHARGED WITH SOLICITING HIT ON DETECTIVE IN POISONED SHAKE MURDER CASE

DENVER (AP) — A Colorado dentist facing charges in the suspicious death of his wife now faces new accusations of attempted murder and perjury. James Craig was charged last week with soliciting a fellow inmate to kill a detective involved in his wife’s murder investigation.

The latest charges against Craig come after his previous lawyer withdrew from the case due to a conflict, just as he was gearing up for his first-degree murder trial in the death of his wife, Angela Craig. The trial has now been postponed indefinitely as Craig awaits a court appearance with a new defense attorney on Dec. 16.

Angela Craig, 43, tragically passed away in March 2023 from poisoning by cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a substance commonly found in over-the-counter eye drops, as determined by the coroner. The couple, married for 23 years and parents to six children, had a seemingly tumultuous relationship, as evidenced by the allegations now surfacing in court.

Prosecutors have also accused Craig of attempting to manipulate evidence by soliciting jail inmates to fabricate a video showing his wife requesting poisons from him. Furthermore, he allegedly tried to plant fake journal entries at their home to make it seem as though Angela had taken her own life.

In a more elaborate scheme, court documents reveal that Craig sought out former inmates to pretend to have had affairs with him and falsely testify in court that they had refused Angela’s request to frame him. These twisted attempts to shift blame onto his deceased wife shed light on the complexity of the case and the disturbing nature of the accusations against him.

As the legal proceedings continue to unfold, the chilling details emerging paint a picture of a man desperate to avoid rightful accountability for his wife’s tragic demise. The upcoming court appearance will likely shed more light on the extent of his alleged actions and the true nature of the couple’s relationship leading up to Angela’s untimely death.
