(AbsoluteNews.com) – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is currently the oldest sitting member of the Senate at age 88. The California Liberal has been serving in her position for more than 30 years. A recent report by her local newspaper questioned whether she should still be in Congress at all.
On April 14, the San Francisco Chronicle posted a devastating article about whether Feinstein is mentally fit to serve. Journalists Joe Garofoli and Tal Kopan claim they spoke to at least four US senators (three of which were Dems) and three other former staffers about her ability to hold her job and they all said the senator’s memory is deteriorating. Feinstein’s colleagues believe she might not be able to perform her duties anymore.
When sitting senators and staffers are willing to confirm the deterioration of a colleagues' mental capacity to reporters, the situation has gotten very, very bad. This is not the sort of story people participate in lightly. https://t.co/owCwwiQxrZ

One Democratic senator allegedly told the newspaper Feinstein is “bad, and it’s getting worse.” They claimed the senator has a hard time following along during conversations.
The report isn’t the first time someone has questioned Feinstein’s ability to do the job. In 2020, the New Yorker alleged she was struggling with memory loss. The article claimed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told her multiple times she should give up the Judiciary Committee leadership position.
Feinstein denies anything is wrong with her and plans to run for office again in 2024.
