London, England – Nintendo recently unveiled a new trailer showcasing all the Donkey Kong Country games available on the Switch, building excitement for the release of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on January 16, 2024.
Players with a standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription can already access every SNES game from the beloved series, including Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest, and Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble. Additionally, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a revamped version of the Wii U title by Retro Studios, is available for individual purchase. The Switch edition includes a new Funky Mode while preserving the essence of the original game.
The latest trailer also offers a glimpse of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, the third installment from Retro Studio’s foray into the platforming genre. While it may not completely wow fans with its basic remaster, developer Forever Entertainment has managed to enhance the visual experience to align more closely with the aesthetics of Tropical Freeze.
With this flood of Donkey Kong content, it is evident that Nintendo is strategically promoting its new theme park expansion in Japan. Speculation arises regarding the potential release of a fresh Donkey Kong title, with whispers of a crossover with 3D Mario. Only time will tell if these rumors come to fruition.
