Double murder suspect killed in shootout with police

MILWAUKEE, WI – A chaotic series of events unfolded overnight, resulting in a homicide and two officer-involved shootings across separate locations. It all began in Shorewood, where three individuals were shot, leaving one dead. A responding officer was also struck but saved by a bulletproof vest.

The situation escalated when the suspect was spotted in Glendale, leading to a high-speed chase that ended near Sixth and Reservoir in Milwaukee. Dramatic footage from a doorbell camera shows officers confronting the suspect, who continued to open fire from his vehicle. Law enforcement returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.

Residents described the scene as intense and alarming, with loud booms echoing through the neighborhood. Terry Howard, a local resident, recounted the tense moments outside his home, where the chase concluded.

The suspect’s actions were linked to the earlier crime scene in Shorewood at Bartlett and Wood. There, the suspect allegedly shot two individuals, killing one, and wounded a Shorewood police officer.

The Milwaukee area investigative team reported that officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect, urging him to seek medical attention before the situation turned deadly. Despite the harrowing events, no additional officers were injured in the Milwaukee shootout.

This incident underscores the growing dangers faced by law enforcement in the area. “The risks our officers encounter daily are significant,” said a local resident, emphasizing the bravery of those who serve.

The officer injured in Shorewood has since been released from the hospital, and authorities continue to piece together the sequence of events that led to this tragic outcome.
