(AbsoluteNews.com) – Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein had a lot of powerful friends when he was alive, from US presidents to members of the royal family. One of the people he associated with is now dead and the way he died is eerily familiar.
At roughly 1 a.m. on February 19, officials found Jean-Luc Brunel dead of an apparent suicide in his prison cell. The French modeling agent was a close associate of the late Epstein and was held in a prison in Paris on charges of rape. Officials were also trying to determine if he helped Epstein traffick underage girls. Several women have reportedly come forward with allegations in the last three years. Virginia Giuffre, who accused Prince Andrew of rape, said Brunel abused her and a number of other girls during his friendship with Epstein.
The suicide of Jean-Luc Brunel, who abused me and countless girls and young women, ends another chapter. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to face him in a final trial to hold him accountable, but gratified that I was able to testify in person last year to keep him in prison.

Brunel’s lawyer, Mathias Chichportich, told the Miami Herald his client had previously tried to kill himself on a number of occasions. Yet, he was not under “emergency protection” (suicide watch) when he died. Had French authorities put him under that designation, he would have been put into a special cell designed to prevent prisoners from taking their own lives. When Epstein reportedly killed himself, he also was not on active suicide watch even though he’d previously tried to take his own life. Coincidence?
