NEW YORK, NY – Grace Jabbari has dropped the federal lawsuit against Jonathan Majors after accusing him of assault and defamation. The suit, initially filed in a New York federal court in March, came before Majors was sentenced to probation for two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment. This followed an arrest made by the New York City police on March 25, 2023, after a physical altercation between Majors and Jabbari inside their chauffeured car in downtown Manhattan.
Less than a month before Majors was sentenced to probation in his domestic violence trial in April, he was sued for defamation by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The lawsuit outlined alleged incidents of verbal and physical abuse dating back to the beginning of their relationship in 2021 during the filming of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in the UK.
In the defamation complaint, detailed instances of abusive behavior by Majors towards Jabbari were listed, including an incident in Los Angeles, where Majors allegedly became angry, causing Jabbari to fear for her safety. Majors then reportedly shoved Jabbari into a shower wall and threw various objects in a fit of rage, causing damage to the surroundings.
Following the arrest in March 2023 after the alleged assault, Majors was convicted of reckless assault and harassment. Throughout the trial, Majors denied attacking Jabbari, claiming to be the victim of abuse himself. However, evidence presented during the trial contradicted this claim.
Despite Majors’ denials, Jabbari’s lawyer Brittany Henderson emphasized her client’s bravery in holding Majors accountable for his actions. Henderson expressed confidence that truth and transparency would lead to justice for Jabbari.
In response to the filing, Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry stated that counterclaims against Jabbari were being prepared. Majors’ management and PR firms severed ties with him following the incident with Jabbari, leading to the cancellation of several projects. However, Majors’ agent, WME, stood by him throughout the legal proceedings.
