(AbsoluteNews.com) – On July 7, a group of assassins broke into Haitian President Jovenel Moïse’s home and murdered him. Over the last few weeks, authorities have uncovered a complicated conspiracy to murder the president that stretched across multiple nations, including the US. Recently, federal agents in Florida conducted raids on locations reportedly related to the case.
On Tuesday, July 27, Homeland Security and the FBI executed five search warrants at addresses in Westchester, Doral, and Weston in South Florida. The locations were reportedly connected to two businessmen: Antonio Intriago and Walter Veintemilla.
According to the New York Post, Haitian authorities believe Veintemilla’s company, Worldwide Capital Lending, paid Intriago to train the group of assassins. An FBI spokesman confirmed an operation was carried out, but the search warrant was sealed by the court.
More than 20 Columbians, 2 Americans, and several others are suspected of involvement in the assassination. Those involved in the murder allegedly dressed up like DEA agents to carry out the attack. Also injured in the violence was Moïse’s wife, who recently returned to Haiti after receiving treatment in Miami. The US government has pledged to help Haitian authorities; the recent raids seem to be proof of that.
