(AbsoluteNews.com) – Earlier this year, Republicans in Georgia passed an election security law after questions arose about the validity of the 2020 presidential race results. The law makes it harder for bad actors to commit election fraud. Liberals have been fighting against the bill, but recently a judge sided with Georgia and stopped the Left from trying to interfere.
On Wednesday, July 7, a federal judge ruled against a Leftist group, the Coalition for Good Governance, that was suing the State Election Board and Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. The group wanted the court to block some of the provisions of the law from going into effect before two state runoff elections later this month. Judge J. P. Boulee, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, refused to do so.

The judge ruled that the upcoming elections are already underway, therefore it would be irresponsible to change the rules. State officials already have plans in place and with about a week left, couldn’t make any major changes.
The ruling was a blow to the Left. It had hoped to be able to chip away at the law but was unsuccessful. It’s unlikely that they will ever be able to strike the law down because it is constitutional. States have the right to run their elections as they see fit as long as they aren’t discriminating against people or cheating. This law does neither of those things.
