Seattle, Washington – Halo fans can rejoice as the classic Firefight experience makes a triumphant return in Halo Infinite, offering players a taste of nostalgia alongside a refreshing twist with the King of the Hill variant. Launched in conjunction with Operation: Blue Team, the PvE action kicks off on March 11th.
First introduced in 2009 with Halo 3: ODST, Firefight has evolved over the years to bring new challenges and experiences to players. With Halo: Reach and Halo 5 introducing their own unique versions of Firefight, fans have seen the mode grow and adapt to suit different styles of gameplay.
In the latest iteration, Halo Infinite’s Firefight: King of the Hill puts players to the test as they must team up to capture and defend hills against the onslaught of Banished forces. The classic Firefight mode, on the other hand, follows the familiar formula of facing endless waves of enemies in a battle for survival.
One of the key features of the classic Firefight mode is the strategic management of lives, which are shared among the team of four players. With each match starting with 7 lives in the team’s pool, players must work together to preserve lives in order to survive the increasingly difficult rounds.
New to Halo Infinite is the option to end a match at the completion of a set, providing players with an opportunity to regroup and strategize before taking on the next round. By hopping into the extraction zone, players can choose to exit the mission and end the match, or continue on to face the next set of challenges.
Players can also look forward to a variety of maps in the Firefight mode, each offering unique environments and challenges to overcome. From the iconic Alpha Site to the ominous House of Reckoning, players will have the chance to test their skills and teamwork on a range of battlegrounds.
As players gear up to dive back into the classic Firefight experience in Halo Infinite, the success of each match will rely on teamwork, strategy, and a willingness to adapt to the ever-changing battlefield. With endless waves of enemies to face and new challenges to tackle, Halo fans have plenty to look forward to in the latest installment of the beloved franchise. So stock up on snacks and water, rally your squad, and prepare for a firefight like never before.
