(AbsoluteNews.com) – On January 30, the country received the heartbreaking news that former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst allegedly took her own life. Before she died, she posted a heartbreaking message on Instagram.
On Sunday morning, the NYPD received a call about a deceased woman in the street. Police determined the woman, Kryst, had leaped from the balcony of her 9th-floor luxury apartment in the 60-story Orion building. The 30-year-old lawyer won the Miss USA pageant in 2019.
Hours before her death, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption: “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Last year, before her 30th birthday, Kryst wrote an op-ed for Allure magazine where she reflected on getting older. She talked about her struggles with negative comments from internet trolls and how society isn’t “kind to those growing old, especially women.” In 2019, she was the oldest woman in history to win the beauty pageant – at the ripe old age of 28. The attorney explained she’d once almost worked herself to death and how it gave her a new perspective on life. Kryst ended her article by saying she was “searching for joy and purpose” on her terms. Sadly, she never found either of those things.
