DC Shooting At JuneTeenth Event

Moechella and Juneteenth Event Gun Fire Erupts And Strikes Four.

A 15-year-old girl was shot dead at a Moechella event in Washington, D.C., on Sunday. Three adults were shot and were transported to a local hospital.

At approximately 6 p.m., a shooting occurred at an unpermitted event in connection with Moechella. There were over 100 officers present at the event even though it did not have the proper permits.

The police chief said several illegal firearms were recovered earlier in the night, including the firearm used on the officer.

“When you have large gatherings in a dense area, it only takes one person with a firearm to make this a dangerous setting,” the police chief said.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called for “accountability” for those responsible for the shooting, saying someone used a gun at the event.
