Fujifilm Unveils Game-Changing GFX100RF Medium Format Camera – Lightest Body Yet and Fixed-Lens Design WOW Fans

NEW YORK, NY – Fujifilm has unveiled its latest addition to the medium format camera lineup, the GFX100RF. Setting itself apart from previous GFX models, this camera boasts the title of being the lightest body in the series and the first to have a fixed-lens design. Equipped with a 35mm lens, equivalent to 28mm in full frame, Fujifilm specifically chose this focal length for its versatility.

The GFX100RF not only catches the eye with its sleek styling and compact design but also promises exceptional detail with its 102-megapixel sensor. Priced at $4,899.95 and weighing 1.62 pounds, this camera aims to strike a balance between being easy to carry compared to traditional medium format cameras, while still rivaling full-frame competitors like the Sony A1 II in weight.

Fujifilm’s decision to include a fixed f/4 lens with a minimum focusing distance of 20 centimeters on the GFX100RF offers creative possibilities for close-up shots. Additionally, the lens can be digitally extended to 45mm, 63mm, and 80mm, expanding its versatility despite not having in-body image stabilization.

The adoption of a leaf shutter system over a focal plane shutter system by Fujifilm on the GFX100RF allowed for a reduction in size while maintaining high performance. This design choice, along with the innovative aspect ratio dial and built-in four-stop ND filter, adds a layer of convenience and flexibility to the camera.

Featuring a 3.15-inch touchscreen LCD and a 5.76-million dot EVF, the GFX100RF offers both a modern viewing experience and an impressive level of sharpness for users. Despite lacking IBIS and interchangeable lenses like the GFX 100S II, photographers may still find the unique features and design of the GFX100RF appealing as a competitor to the Leica Q3.

As photographers eagerly await reviews of the GFX100RF, it’s clear that Fujifilm continues to push boundaries in the medium format camera market with its innovative approach and attention to detail.
