Game Pass Revolution: Microsoft Brings Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to Xbox Game Pass Without PlayStation-Exclusive Content

REDMOND, WASHINGTON – Microsoft is making headlines by introducing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to Xbox Game Pass, marking the first time a Call of Duty game will be accessible through this service. This move comes after Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, making this the last installment with PlayStation-exclusive content.

The addition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is scheduled for July 24th. This release follows Microsoft’s recent announcement of price increases for its subscription services, which include Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

In response to the price hikes, Microsoft is looking to cushion the impact by offering sought-after titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on Xbox Game Pass. With increases of up to 25 percent in certain regions, Game Pass Ultimate will be raised to $19.99 a month starting September 12th, up $3 from the current pricing. Additionally, PC Game Pass will see a rise to $11.99 a month, while a new “Standard” option for Xbox Game Pass is on the horizon.

Looking ahead, Microsoft is gearing up to release Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass later this year, providing a glimpse into the company’s strategic moves following the Activision acquisition. Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass will gain access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, while new members will require the Ultimate subscription for day-one access to the game.
