San Francisco, California – Google Fi Wireless, Google’s cellular service, is marking its 10th anniversary with the introduction of a new Unlimited Essentials plan. This plan, priced at $35 per month for a single line, offers unlimited calls, text, and data with 30 GB of high-speed data.
Google Fi, an MVNO utilizing T-Mobile’s network, was initially exclusive to select Android devices upon launch. However, since 2018, iPhone users have also been able to access the service. The introduction of the Unlimited Essentials plan coincides with updates to other Google Fi plans.
The $50/month Simply Unlimited plan has been renamed Unlimited Standard, now offering 50 GB of high-speed data and 25 GB of hotspot data – an increase from 35 GB and 5 GB, respectively. Additionally, the Unlimited Premium plan, formerly known as Unlimited Plus, now includes 100 GB of high-speed data and 50 GB of hotspot data, doubling its previous offering.
Google is enhancing its support for eSIMs, allowing iPad users to sign up for Google Fi as a data option. Notably, this service was previously limited to physical SIMs only. Moreover, Google Fi’s 5G coverage is expanding to over 92 international locations for Unlimited Premium users, providing enhanced connectivity.
iPhone users will soon have the convenience of accessing their Google Fi voicemails directly through the Phone app, thanks to upcoming iPhone integration by Google. This update eliminates the necessity of the Fi app for managing voicemails, enhancing the user experience across devices.
Overall, these updates and expansions demonstrate Google’s commitment to providing cost-effective and versatile wireless service options for smartphone users, as evidenced by the development of the Unlimited Essentials plan and improvements to existing plans and features. Customers can expect enhanced connectivity and convenience through Google Fi’s evolving offerings.
