Google’s Latest Android Calculator Update Revealed: You Won’t Believe the Surprising Change Made in 2025 Version 8.7

Mountain View, California – Google has once again updated its Android Calculator app, this time releasing version 8.7 in 2025 with a notable change.

In the latest update, users will notice a more significant spacing between the last row of buttons and the gesture navigation bar within the Calculator 8.7 app. This adjustment differs from the previous version, 8.6.1, where the gap between the buttons and bar was minimal, giving the appearance that the pill overlapped with the circles above it. However, the newest version features a slight reduction in the display size and button size to address this overlap, resulting in a more seamless user experience.

This change applies to both the portrait and landscape orientations offered by the app. While Google Calculator 8.7 is currently being rolled out through the Play Store, it is not yet widely available to all users. Those eager to explore the updated version can choose to manually install it.

The update comes a year after the last .1 patch, signaling that the Calculator app has become a mature application within the Android ecosystem. Previous major updates included a two-column UI for larger Android devices in 2022 and the addition of a Quick Settings Tile for convenient app access from anywhere. Additionally, the Material You redesign was introduced in 2021, enhancing the overall visual appeal and functionality of the app.
