SAN ANTONIO, TX – A suspected drug deal gone bad led to a fierce shootout late Tuesday in a northwest side karaoke bar parking lot, leaving three men injured. San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is currently investigating and seeking information about the incident.
The shooting took place around 11:49 p.m. at Dad’s Karaoke Bar, situated on the 2600 block of Mossrock near Vance Jackson Road. On arrival, police found one victim, a man in his thirties, with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was promptly transported to the University Hospital in stable condition.
More than 50 evidence markers at the scene pointed to a high-intensity shootout, with multiple bullet-riddled cars and even a business across the street showing signs of the crossfire. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of a full-automatic weapon.
Two more victims arrived independently at Methodist Hospital around the same time, showing signs of multiple gunshot wounds. Simultaneously, police located a potentially involved crashed vehicle near I-10, filled with weapons that matched the scene at the karaoke bar. This vehicle was consistent with one seen fleeing from the site of the shootout.
Orlando Garcia, owner of Longhorn Truck Accessories, a business across the street, commented on the area’s escalating danger over recent years. He believes regular suspicious activity points to potential drug deals, a suspicion that Tuesday night’s shooting did not dispute. Garcia urged local police to increase patrols in the area.
SAPD has received little information from the victims to assist their investigation. However, officers intend to review local business security footage for potential leads. Meanwhile, the crime scene remains under active investigation.
