A dad was fatally shot while visiting his kid at Marist College. Two men with gang ties were arrested and later found bomb-making materials and a ghost gun.

The man died and two suspects were taken into custody after this shooting at a Poughkeepsie, New York hotel early Sunday morning.

Devin Taylor and Roy Johnson Jr. were the suspects that were arrested at the New York hotel. They are being held on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond.

The deadly violence erupted after one of the suspects got into an argument with hotel workers and others, a senior law enforcement official told the outlet.

Police were called to a Courtyard Marriott in Poughkeepsie for a report of shots fired. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered man inside the hotel who suffered from gunshot wounds. He was found shot to death and was unresponsive.

Police found materials that could have been used to make bombs in the suspects’ room after the shooting. In addition to this, the suspects were also allegedly smoking a PCP-like substance in the hotel room.

Hotel guests were evacuated to a nearby Residence Inn and to the Locust Grove Estate next door.

Students shared heartbroken messages on social media and reminded each other to tell their parents they loved them. The university offered its support to the family that suffered such a great loss.
