An arrest has been made for reportedly shooting at several cars on a west Phoenix freeway, which resulted in one driver’s death.
On suspicion of multiple felonies including first-degree murder, 29-year-old Raymond Pipkin has been taken into custody by Avondale police.
Pipkin is alleged to have fired at cars traveling on Interstate 10 in Avondale before crashing into a motorcycle and other vehicles.
An injured man died at a hospital after being shot, while three others received treatment for injuries sustained during the crashes.
As of yet, none of the victims have been identified. It is not yet known what motivated the shootings. It was unclear Sunday whether Pipkin has a lawyer.
A man was found on the northbound off-ramp of Thunderbird Road around 4 a.m. in June. Dead from a gun shot wound.
A search of the victims car revealed that the 18-year-old had been shot multiple times and died inside.
Police say the vehicle had been struck by multiple bullets. No suspects were caught, and detectives are are still investigating the shooting.
