A man entered a Target store and grabbed a butcher knife with a 9-inch blade in a violent attack. It was initially reported that three people were stabbed in this incident, and one person was shot.

The stabbing suspect confronted a 7-year-old boy, police said. The suspect told the child repeatedly that he was going to stab him and kill him. He then proceeded to follow through with his threat, attacking and stabbing the child in his shoulder as he fell to the floor.

The suspect also stabbed a 25-year-old woman in the chest. Good Samaritans rescued the woman and pulled her into the pharmacy area to help tend to her injuries.

There was a third person injured during this incident as well. At first, authorities reported them as another stabbing victim. However, upon further investigation, it was found that the third victim was trampled by panicked crowds in a chaotic stampede. As a result, she sustained severe bruising on their face.

The security guard shot the suspect at least once in the torso before Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the scene and took the stabbing suspect into custody.

The 7-year-old boy who was stabbed is in stable condition, but the 25-year-old woman suffered a deep stab wound to her chest. Her current health condition is not yet public knowledge after she underwent surgery for her stabbing injury.

The homeless man who stabbed both the 25-year-old adult and the 7-year-old child died from the gunshot wound inflicted by the security guard, police said.

The investigation for this case is still ongoing. The security footage from the Target store is being reviewed by the authorities to determine the exact events of the incident.
