According to the Kent Police Department, a man inside a home in the East Hill neighborhood made statements about killing his wife. Police tried making phone calls inside, but nobody answered.

Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault at this residence. The police were dispatched back to the East Hill home after the victim’s family member offered a key. Kent Police officers finally arrived at the East Hill residence at about 1:09 a.m. and found the victim inside a bedroom with apparent stab wounds.

There was also a child who was found in the home. Fortunately, the child was found without injury.

They were able to make contact with the 52-year-old suspect inside the home using their PA system. The suspect was the husband of the victim. He was arrested for suspicion of murder and booked into the King County jail.

While still on scene, officers were diverted to a robbery in progress call in the 18000 block of East Valley Highway, where they determined that the suspects had fled in a vehicle and the victims were safe.

Local resident Bruce Lawn says he and many other neighbors are taken back by what happened next door. It was shocking to know that the husband of the home has been booked on suspicion of murder.
