Jake Paul to face Julio César Chávez Jr. in Epic Showdown at Honda Center

Anaheim, California – Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr. will step into the ring against each other following their separate bouts last July. The fight is scheduled for June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. News of the matchup was first reported by The Ring’s Mike Coppinger. Initially, Paul was in talks with Canelo Álvarez for a possible fight in the spring. However, negotiations with Álvarez came to a halt when he signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.

In response to Álvarez’s move, Paul voiced his thoughts on social media, suggesting that the boxer was solely driven by money. Paul expressed his frustration over what he perceived as attempts to prevent their potential fight from happening. Meanwhile, Chávez Jr. is coming off a victory against former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July 2021.

The bout between Paul and Chávez Jr. was set up after a previously scheduled event featuring Paul and Mike Perry was postponed due to Mike Tyson’s health issues. Chávez Jr. had not fought since December 2021 when he defeated David Zegarra. His upcoming fight with Paul will mark an exciting return to the ring for the 39-year-old veteran boxer.

In contrast, Paul boasts an impressive record of 11-1 in his professional career, with seven of those wins coming by way of knockout or TKO. The match between Paul and Chávez Jr. has garnered significant attention from fans and pundits alike, with many eagerly anticipating the clash between the two fighters. The fight is expected to be a thrilling showdown between two accomplished athletes in the boxing world.
