‘Jason Statham’ Set to Unleash Box Office Fury, Threatening Disney’s ‘Snow White’ in Epic Weekend Showdown

Los Angeles, California – Disney’s latest release, Snow White, is anticipated to top the box office this weekend with earnings of over $15 million. However, stiff competition from the Jason Statham-led film A Working Man may challenge Snow White’s reign. A Working Man is expected to bring in around $13.5 million, showcasing the enduring appeal of Statham’s action-packed movies in a time of subdued box office performance.

While Snow White is showing at a higher number of theaters, with 4,200 locations compared to A Working Man’s 3,262 sites, both films are neck-and-neck in terms of projected weekend earnings. In third place, Fathom Events’ The Chosen: Last Supper is expected to take in $12 million from 2,234 theaters.

Universal/Blumhouse’s The Woman in the Yard is performing well, bringing in $8.4 million, slightly ahead of A24’s Death of a Unicorn, which is estimated to earn around $5 million. Princess Mononoke’s re-release by GKIDS is also drawing audiences, with expectations of a $3 million weekend following a $2 million Friday debut at 330 sites.

The box office landscape faces challenges with overall depressed earnings, coinciding with the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas where major studios are showcasing their upcoming projects. Despite the challenging environment, audiences continue to show interest in a variety of genres ranging from action to horror and animated films.

Yesterday, Princess Mononoke reigned supreme at the box office with a notable performance at 330 Imax locations, earning $1.2 million. The iconic animated film, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, continues to captivate audiences with its timeless story and stunning animation.

A Working Man, directed by David Ayer and starring Jason Statham, has also made its mark with a strong showing at 2,550 locations, pulling in $1.1 million. With a projected weekend earning of $10-12 million, the film’s action-packed storyline seems to resonate with audiences.

In the horror genre, The Woman in the Yard and Death of a Unicorn are holding their own, with both films bringing in respectable earnings of $870K and $700K, respectively. Despite facing tough competition, these films are proving to be solid contenders in a challenging box office landscape.
