Jeremy Renner Reveals Shocking Reason Behind No “Hawkeye” Season 2: Insulting Pay Offer After Tragic Accident!

Lake Tahoe, California — Jeremy Renner has shed light on the absence of a second season for the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” In a recent interview, the actor, who portrays Clint Barton, revealed that a significant pay cut was a major factor in the series not moving forward.

Renner stated that he was offered only half of his salary from the first season for a potential second season. “They asked me to come back, but the financial terms didn’t make sense,” he explained. “It would require double the effort for half the pay, which equates to eight months of my time. That just isn’t feasible.”

The actor pointed to his serious snowmobile accident from January 2023 as a possible reason behind the reduced offer. “Did they think I’m less capable now because of my injuries?” he questioned, referring to the critical injuries he sustained when a large snow plow ran over him while he was helping his nephew.

During that incident, Renner suffered multiple fractures, including eight broken ribs and serious orthopedic injuries that required hospitalization. While he has made strides in his recovery, the physical toll has left him reflecting on the demands of returning to the role.

Renner did not hold back in expressing his frustrations regarding the financial negotiations. “This isn’t just about Marvel; it feels more like a conversation with accountants who are trying to save a few bucks. I told them their offer was insulting,” he said. Despite his disappointment, Renner is not dismissing the possibility of reprising his role in the future. “I love Hawkeye and would still be eager to return to the character. However, I needed to prioritize my own value and well-being,” he noted.

The first season of “Hawkeye,” which debuted in late 2021, also featured Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh, receiving praise from fans and critics alike. While the series has developed a dedicated following, Renner’s financial ordeal has cast a shadow over its future.

Marvel has yet to respond concerning any plans related to the series. For now, Renner is focused on recovery, and his fans will have to wait for any news on his potential return to the MCU.
