Judge Rules Against Dismissal of Fox News From Smartmatic Lawsuit

(AbsoluteNews.com) – After the 2020 election, there were a lot of questions about the reliability of some of the voting machines. Members of the media and prominent Conservatives wondered if there were irregularities with the machines. The questions they asked led to hefty lawsuits. Recently, there have been a number of updates in the cases.

On Tuesday, March 8, New York Supreme Court Judge David Cohen rejected a bid by Fox Corp to throw out Smartmatic’s $2.7-billion defamation lawsuit. The voting machine company alleges the conservative news organization intentionally defamed the company by reporting about irregularities. In his ruling, the judge claimed the network’s reporting showed a “reckless disregard for the truth.”

The lawsuits against anchors Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo are also allowed to proceed. The judge did throw out a lawsuit against Fox News star Jeanine Pirro because the television star didn’t specifically blame Smartmatic when she claimed Democrats tried to steal votes.

The case against Attorney Sidney Powell was also dismissed. She worked as part of the team fighting the election results. Most of the case against Attorney Rudy Giuliani was also tossed out, only a small portion will move forward.

Fox News has vowed to appeal the ruling.
