Kamala Harris and Tim Walz 2024 Campaign Gets a Boost from Carole King and Swifties in Organizing Call

Los Angeles, California – Singer-songwriter Carole King recently took part in an organizing call to support the candidacy of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. During the virtual event, King urged over 27,000 attendees to get involved in door-knocking and other campaign activities to help elect the Democratic ticket.

Throughout the call, participants were asked to contribute donations of $19.89 and $13 to the campaign. Despite the group’s support for Harris and Walz, there were no official affiliations with the popular singer Taylor Swift.

King, a longtime political activist, emphasized the importance of engaging with voters and listening to their concerns. She shared her personal experiences of door-knocking and highlighted the significance of asking meaningful questions and building connections with voters.

In addition to encouraging attendees to make connections with potential voters, King underscored the importance of finding common ground with those who may be unsure about supporting Harris. She emphasized the value of listening and engaging in constructive dialogue to bridge divides and promote unity in the political process.

The event also featured other notable speakers such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Becca Balint, Rep. Chris Deluzio, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and Sen. Ed Markey, who all infused their speeches with lyrical puns and references. Markey, in particular, emphasized the urgency of addressing climate change and called for concerted efforts to combat environmental threats.

As a show of appreciation for the fundraising efforts, the Swifties for Kamala group launched a merch drop in collaboration with Taylor Swift’s merchandise line, Shop Social Goods. The group successfully raised substantial funds, reaching totals of $100,000, $113,000, and finally $122,000.

In conclusion, the event concluded with a call to action for attendees to make plans to vote and mobilize friends and family members to participate in the electoral process. Participants were incentivized with the opportunity to win coveted tickets to an Eras Tour show in Toronto. The event demonstrated the power of grassroots activism and the importance of community engagement in shaping the political landscape.
