Las Vegas, Nevada — Kelly Clarkson has postponed the initial performances of her eagerly awaited residency, Studio Sessions, at Caesars Palace. The singer announced the delay on social media, expressing her disappointment at not being able to perform as scheduled.
In an Instagram post, Clarkson explained that despite her team’s efforts to create an extraordinary experience for fans, her vocal health has become a concern. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all, and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage,” she wrote. Clarkson emphasized that the preparation and rehearsals have taken a toll on her voice, prompting her to take this weekend off to rest.
The Grammy Award-winning artist plans to resume her residency next week. Clarkson is enthusiastic about her upcoming shows, noting the impressive talent of her band and backup singers. “I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on,” she added, hinting at exciting performances to come.
Caesars Palace responded to the announcement, assuring ticket holders they can either request full refunds or retain their tickets for performances that will be rescheduled later. Specific dates for these rescheduled shows have yet to be determined, leaving fans eager for updates.
The venue acknowledged Clarkson’s artistry, calling her an “unparalleled” performer and expressing confidence that fans will be treated to an unforgettable show once she has fully recovered. The Studio Sessions residency is slated to feature 16 performances across July, August, and November.
This new residency follows Clarkson’s 2023 engagement, Chemistry: An Intimate Evening With Kelly Clarkson, which consisted of 12 shows that continued into early 2024. Her earlier plans for a residency in 2020, titled Invincible, were scrapped due to the global pandemic.
In addition to her performing commitments, Clarkson has maintained her presence in the music scene, releasing her latest single, “Where Have You Been,” this past May. The song’s inspiration came from a memorable moment in the television series “Only Murders in the Building,” showcasing her creative process and ability to draw from diverse experiences.
As her fans await the start of the residency, Clarkson’s commitment to delivering a top-notch performance remains clear. She is determined to ensure that her return to the stage meets the high expectations of her admirers.
