Los Angeles, California — Lorde has officially announced the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, titled Virgin, set to launch on June 27 through Republic Records. This new project follows the singer’s recent return to the music scene with the single "What Was That," a collaboration with producers Jim-E Stack and Daniel Nigro.
Virgin will feature a total of 11 tracks, showcasing Lorde’s unique sound and artistic vision. The album’s production is primarily handled by Stack and includes contributions from notable names such as Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged of Inc. No World, Buddy Ross, and Devonté Hynes from Blood Orange. Renowned mixing engineers Spike Stent and Tom Elmhirst have also been involved, with mastering by Chris Gehringer.
In a heartfelt email to her fans, Lorde described the album as a reflection of herself, emphasizing a theme of transparency. She likened its color to that of "bathwater, windows, ice, [and] spit," suggesting an unfiltered and direct approach. "I was trying to see myself, all the way through. I was trying to create a document that reflected my femininity: raw, primal, innocent, elegant, open-hearted, spiritual, and even masculine," she wrote.
