Man Arrested And Charged With Murder For Shooting Couple To Death

Man arrested last week in Vermont charged with murder in Concord shootings – WMUR Manchester

A man who was named a person of interest in the shooting death of Stephen and Wendy Reid has been charged with murder.

The suspect, Logan Clegg, has been held for seven days on an unrelated fugitive-from-justice charge after he was arrested in South Burlington, Vermont. At the time of his arrest, he had booked a one-way ticket to Germany.

Clegg’s lawyers filed appeals seeking a bail hearing.

After six months with little information, a friendly community in Concord is breathing a little easier after Clegg was arrested. Neighbors hope the arrest will lead to more answers and help the Reid family heal.

Steven and Wendy Reid were shot to death in April. Investigators have not yet commented on a possible motive for their murder.

A mother of another victim of Clegg’s also spoke out. Lisa Ward in Spokane, Wash., said she is glad Logan Clegg was charged with the murders of the Reids, although she didn’t know the Reids. Clegg stabbed her son to death in May 2018 and authorities ruled it self-defense.

According to Clegg, he was walking to work at McDonald’s third shift when Corey Ward, 28, yelled at him calling him names out his apartment window. He claims that Corey said he was coming out to fight.

Clegg stabbed Ward with a small knife he kept in his front pocket and kept walking to work thinking Corey wasn’t badly hurt. However, there were no witnesses that could confirm otherwise.

Clegg is being held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans, Vermont and is expected to be arraigned Thursday.
