Man’s body found in truck on the side of a busy highway

HIALEAH, FL – A man’s body was discovered inside a pickup truck on the Palmetto Expressway, causing significant traffic disruptions and prompting a criminal investigation. The incident unfolded near a Best Buy store in Hialeah, where authorities responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol officers arrived on the scene to find a silver Ford truck pulled over on the shoulder. A yellow tarp covered the driver’s side windows as detectives meticulously examined the vehicle. The discovery of the body inside the truck led to the involvement of Hialeah Police, who have now taken over the investigation.

The incident resulted in the closure of multiple northbound lanes on the Palmetto Expressway, creating a traffic nightmare during rush hour. Drivers faced significant delays as authorities worked to gather evidence and clear the scene. Chopper footage showed the extensive police activity around the vehicle, with evidence markers placed next to what appeared to be parts of the truck.

By 4 p.m., the scene was cleared, and traffic began to flow again, albeit slowly. Despite the reopening of lanes, the investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident around noon or 1 p.m. to come forward with information.

Authorities are keen to piece together the events leading up to the discovery of the body. They are asking potential witnesses to contact them directly or reach out to Crime Stoppers with any relevant information.
