Massive Missing Person Search Leads to Terrible Discovery

(AbsoluteNews.com) – For the last week, America has been on the lookout for Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old who went missing while on a cross-country road trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. On Saturday, September 18, police authorities from multiple jurisdictions began searching Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. Sadly, it seems the search is likely over.

On Sunday afternoon, the FBI announced remains matching Gabby’s description were found in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area in Bridger-Teton National Forest. The federal law enforcement agency said the identity of the body isn’t confirmed, but offered its condolences to the young woman’s family.

The area where the body was found is the same area where a couple captured what appears to be Gabby’s van on video at the end of August. The couple said they noticed the van because of its Florida license plate. They’re from the Tampa Bay area just a couple of hours north of where her van was later found.

Meanwhile, Laundrie’s parents reported him missing on Friday night. They said he went hiking in Sarasota, Florida on Tuesday but never came home. After days of searching, police were unable to locate him at the wildlife preserve his family said he’d visited.

On Monday, the FBI declared Laundrie’s home a crime scene. Law enforcement has not said what they’re searching for or if they found anything related to the missing person. This is a developing case.
