The announcement of Maul: Shadow Lord was made during a special panel at Star Wars Celebration, where Lucasfilm executives discussed the studio’s history of animation projects and the exciting future plans for Maul.
Maul’s character, known for his menacing appearance and deadly skills with a double-edged lightsaber, has captivated audiences since his debut in 1999. Voiced by Sam Witwer in previous animated series, Maul will now take on the role of a teacher, guiding an apprentice in the upcoming series set to premiere in 2026.
