San Francisco, California – Microsoft has officially released its Copilot Vision feature for all Edge users, allowing them to utilize an AI tool that can analyze, summarize, and respond to questions about the content on their current web page. Initially introduced last October as an experimental feature and later expanded in December for Copilot Pro subscribers, Copilot Vision is now accessible for free to any Edge user with a Microsoft account.
With Copilot Vision, users can engage with an AI that can “see” the content on their screen and provide insights, summaries, and answers based on the information available on a webpage. This feature aims to streamline the browsing experience by eliminating the need for users to manually explain, copy-paste, or struggle to articulate their thoughts while online.
One of the unique capabilities of Copilot Vision is its ability to work with most websites, excluding those containing harmful or adult content. Users can ask Copilot for recommendations, advice, or summaries related to the webpage they are viewing, whether it involves selecting products on an e-commerce site, following a recipe, or crafting a cover letter for a job application.
To address privacy concerns, Microsoft ensures that user requests, images, and page content are not logged or stored, with only Copilot’s responses being saved for monitoring purposes. Once a browsing session ends, all data is promptly deleted to protect user privacy.
To access Copilot Vision, users need to be signed in to Edge with a Microsoft account and activate the feature through the Copilot sidebar. By clicking on the microphone icon and then selecting the glasses icon, users can prompt Copilot to analyze, summarize, or provide information about the content displayed on their screen.
Despite some initial access issues reported by users, Microsoft has resolved these concerns, allowing more individuals to explore the capabilities of Copilot Vision. The feature provides a comprehensive overview of entire web pages, offering insights beyond just the visible content on the screen.
With Copilot Vision now available to all Edge users, it has become a convenient and efficient tool for enhancing the browsing experience, providing valuable insights and assistance based on the content being viewed online.
