Mitch McConnell Says Joe Biden to Blame for Low Job Numbers

( – Over the last couple of months, employers across the country have had a difficult time filling jobs. Republicans in some states are now looking to end the enhanced $300-weekly unemployment benefits in an effort to get people back out into the workforce. Recently, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) placed the blame for the low job numbers at the feet of President Joe Biden.

On May 10, McConnell took to the Senate floor and criticized the Biden administration for its COVID-19 response. The senator said the government should not continue taxing hard-working Americans “to fund extra benefits for those staying home.” He went on to say he believes the Democrats’ American Rescue Plan is actually slowing the nation’s recovery.

If the Biden administration truly wants the US to recover, Republicans believe it’s time to stop incentivizing people to stay home. Millions of jobs are open and millions of people are unemployed. Clearly, this is an issue the president needs to address immediately.
