(AbsoluteNews.com) – California is among the states with the strictest gun laws in the country and they’re trying to pass even more laws. In fact, the Democratically-led legislature introduced multiple gun bills in the last fiscal year. Those bills range from increased taxes on firearms to the expansion of the state’s red flag law. Despite all of the preexisting laws put in place by Liberals, people continue to die in mass shootings in the Golden State.
On May 26, the state was once again rocked by violence. Of course, Democrats are using the latest shooting as a sick opportunity to push their gun control agenda.
San Jose VTA Attack
Wednesday morning, workers at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority Guadalupe Light Rail Yard were getting ready to start their day when suddenly a gunman, identified as Samuel Cassidy, opened fire. When the shooter stopped firing his weapon 10 people were dead (including the suspect who took his own life) and multiple people were injured. Authorities named the victims later that evening:

Police have not released a motive in the shooting, but people who know the suspect, including his ex-wife, said that he was an angry person. His ex said he often talked about hurting the people he worked with but she didn’t think he was serious.
Even though most of the details about how he obtained the guns and why he did it are unknown, Democrats are using it to push their anti-gun agenda.
Mass Shootings Prove Gun Control Is Useless
President Joe Biden called on Congress to pass a gun control bill in the wake of the shooting. He said he wants lawmakers to “help end this epidemic of gun violence in America.” Several other Democrats, including Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), represent the district where the shooting took place.
I’ve been in Congress for 5 years. Every time there’s a mass shooting, we’re forced to remind ourselves of our own failure to act in DC.
This man should never have been able to own a gun. We need background checks and red flag laws. https://t.co/M1J70lqLFz

Rep. Khanna said the country needs background checks and red flag laws, but California already has those laws. And on Wednesday, they saw the state’s 18th mass shooting unfold. If gun control laws were so great, the shooting would not have taken place. Here we are though, mourning the loss of nine lives.
