Police found a dead body in the room of an apartment in Boston, Massachusetts then a man inside that apartment allegedly attempted to jump out on the window.
After officers responded to a wellbeing call to 35 Northampton Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston on Sunday at 8:08 p.m., Michael Perry, 37, allegedly “dove” out of the 12th-floor window.
After not receiving a response, officers entered the unit and found Jose Aponte, 43, deceased.
Upon making contact with a second person inside the apartment, SWAT officials encountered a “physical threat.”
“The police arrived at the apartment and found the resident deceased with significant physical trauma in the apartment. Mr. Perry was located farther back in the apartment. He had moved things to obscure himself. During an arraignment hearing, a prosecutor told WCVB that they called out to Perry and asked him if he had any weapons. “He replied, “Come find out!“”.
The outlet reports that “the suspect was hanging upside down outside the window, caught on the handle by only his underwear,” according to a police report.
Upon trying to jump out of the window, Perry got “caught up” and was hanging from the window, police said, adding that officers were able to pull Perry through the window on the 11th floor.
He was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening at a local hospital.
Assault with a dangerous weapon and murder are the charges against him.
