Kocani, North Macedonia – A tragic fire at a crowded nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia, has resulted in at least 59 deaths and over 150 injuries, confirmed by Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski. The blaze broke out during a concert at the Pulse club, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants for four individuals linked to the incident.
The fire ignited around 3am during the performance by the band DNK, as indoor fireworks known as “stage fountains” were set off. The easily flammable ceiling caught fire quickly, causing the flames to spread rapidly throughout the discotheque and generating massive amounts of smoke. Videos circulating on social media platforms depict the extent of the devastation, with the building engulfed in flames.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the government is expected to declare a seven-day mourning period, expressing solidarity with the families of the victims. Emergency inspections of nightclubs and restaurant venues hosting events will be ordered to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Reports indicate that the injured have been hospitalized, with many suffering severe burns. The director of Kocani General Hospital revealed that the injured victims are predominantly between the ages of 14 and 24.
