Ocasio-Cortez Says Democrats Can't Rely on Elections to Win

(AbsoluteNews.com) – Election security has been at the forefront of Republicans’ minds over the last several months. There’s a real concern among Conservatives that the Democratic Party might try to rig the system to make it easier for their candidates to win. Comments made by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are likely to add fuel to that fire.

During a June 13 interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Dana Bash asked the congresswoman if she thinks Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer should retire. AOC said that she would have to say yes because she believes the party has had “very difficult experiences” because they made the “opposite mistake.” She was likely referring to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg staying on the court and then passing away while former President Donald Trump was in office. Then, she said something that the Left doesn’t usually say out loud.

The congresswoman claimed putting a younger, more liberal justice on the court might be necessary if Democrats don’t pass HR1 because they can’t rely on “a wish of winning elections.”

AOC all but admitted that the Democratic Party is trying to pass election reform to help them win elections. And if they can’t win at the ballot box, shaping the Supreme Court to benefit their party is the way to go.
