Ohio City Stands Up for Statues

(AbsoluteNews.com) – Violent agitators have been ripping down and vandalizing statues in American cities for weeks now. President Trump recently signed two executive orders to address the problem. A city in Ohio is making an offer for the works of art now.

On Independence Day, Newton Falls City Manager, David Lynch, signed a proclamation declaring itself a “Statuary Sanctuary City.” The town will take unwanted statues of Abraham Lincoln, Christopher Columbus, and others from other areas in the country that don’t want them. The order explained these American heroes have ended slavery, discovered the “New World,” and taken other steps that helped them rise to “great achievement.”

Preserving our historical monuments and statues is incredibly important. Seeing towns like Newton Falls step up to the plate is encouraging. Times change and so do social norms, it’s a fact of life. That doesn’t mean we should destroy our past.
