LEVITTOWN, Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania man has been charged with the shocking murder of his father, a federal employee, in a heinous crime that has left the community reeling. Justin Mohn, 32, is accused of shooting his father before dismembering him and sharing a disturbing video on YouTube.
The victim, 68-year-old Michael F. Mohn, was identified as a federal employee with the Army Corps of Engineers. The accused purchased a gun legally the day before the killing, surrendering his medical marijuana card to make the purchase.
Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn revealed that Mohn had no history of diagnosed mental health issues or inpatient psychiatric treatment. The district attorney also expressed concerns about the chilling video being on YouTube for several hours before being removed, amassing over 5,000 views.
Mohn’s manifesto, recorded before the heinous crime, called for the torture and execution of federal workers and included troubling language directed towards various groups including the LGBTQ community, immigrants, the Black Lives Matter movement, and “antifa”.
Authorities are still working to understand the motive behind the crime, and whether Mohn had any ties to militia-type groups. The video even went so far as to identify specific federal employees by name and included the home address of a federal judge.
Mohn’s father’s body was discovered by his wife, surrounded by a large amount of blood. His severed head was found in a plastic bag placed in a cooking pot in a bedroom, and bloody rubber gloves were recovered from various locations in the house. After the killing, Mohn fled in his father’s car but was tracked down and arrested about 100 miles away, still armed with the murder weapon.
The community has been left in shock and disbelief, as authorities continue their investigation into this horrific and tragic crime.
