President Calls For Justice After Officers Ambushed

( – On Saturday, September 12, two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were sitting in their patrol car when someone ambushed and shot them. As of this writing, the officers have undergone surgery and are in critical condition. President Donald Trump spoke out about the horrific crime on Sunday.

During a “Latinos for Trump” event, the president called on legislators to pass tougher laws for people who attack the police. Trump said the shooter is being hunted by authorities and when he’s found, “we’ve got to get much tougher with our sentencing.” He also responded to a tweet from his oldest son, Don Jr, who asked for prayers for the deputies, calling on prosecutors to ask for the death penalty.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the shooter.

President Trump has always been an ardent supporter of the police. The brave men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep Americans safe, and they deserve our support. Unfortunately, they’re often the targets of violent people. That’s why the country needs leaders who back the blue.
